Notre Dame

Going through northern Indiana we stopped to visit the beautiful Notre Dame campus.

Heading East

Tomorrow we leave Wisconsin heading east. Here are a few pictures of Madison and the vicinity.

Friends

We had dinner with some high school friends. Our friends Larry and Shirley Bowden invited us to their beautiful house for a great dinner and wonderful hospitality. Also there were Don and Marilyn Steinhoff and Howdy and Georgia Murray.

Corn Boil

After all, it is August and we are in Wisconsin, we can't pass up a chance to attend a corn boil. This one was in Sun Prairie. And we had music by the Wundos!

Christmas tree

In Barb's ongoing search for the perfect Christmas tree we went through prairie, woods, saw wild turkeys, fawn and finally found the perfect tree. All within the University of Wisconsin Arboretum.

Devil's Lake

Devil's Lake has to be one of the prettiest lakes in the state. But those bluffs are a long climb up.

Great Taste

Saturday we went to the Great Taste of the Midwest. One of the premier beer festivals in the country. Over 100 breweries and 500 beers all from the Midwest on beautiful Lake Monona. We tried, but we couldn't get through them all!!

Stone

We were pleasantly surprised to find that one of our favorite Southern California breweries, Stone, is now being distributed in Wisconsin. Additionally a Madison restaurant had a release party for their 08-08-08 Vertical Epic Friday night.

College

If you have to go to college, this would be a good way to do it. We went to the Terrace at the University of Wisconsin Memorial Union to hear some music. You can tell you are in Wisconsin by the color of the boats.

Garden

We visited the Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, lots of great plants and flowers.
