Happy Thanksgiving

We want to wish all of our friends a Happy Thanksgiving from the Nashville Flying Saucer.

Opryland

Our next stop was to visit Barb's sister Beaty in Nashville. She took us to the Opryland Hotel to see their Christmas lights.

Dollywood

Ken and Pauline also took us to Dollywood to see the Christmas lights.

Smokey Mountain

On a foggy day we toured the Smokey Mountain National Park with our friends Ken and Pauline Larson.

Tennessee

We moved west into Tennessee on a rainy day.

Ashville

Ashville NC was a very interesting city to visit, including the home of Thomas Wolfe.

Friends

We spent a couple days with some great friends of ours in Morganton NC, Bill and Carolyn Vaassen. Bill is a physician's assistant, we saw him at work and toured the area.

Blue Ridge Parkway

We took a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in western North Carolina, the color was pretty much gone at that altitude, but the scenery was great.

Charlotte

Charlotte was a contrast of old and new.

Old Salem

Next stop was Winston Salem.

Mendenhall Planation

We visited the Menenhall Plantation. A lot of neat old buildings, not quite what I thought of as a plantation, but it was a beautiful fall day.
